Above was the original photo I used for the banner or ISLAND-OF-BEADS.COM . I created this website last December out of I don't know what & why then neglected it just before the Christmas Holidays. Then few days ago, while working on my new laptop, I found the website again and decided to work on it to revise a lot of things .Plus, I had finally decided to put a logo to give it some face . I'm Just not so sure yet what description I could come out to that would nicely fit into this one as compared to MY-SECRET-CORNER.COM. which I'd been using for my beaded jewelries all these years. I guess , this site would be a great home for my tons of beads I have at home ! Only problem I encounter is, I still don't have any description for it . Although the tagline ... " There's a Reason for it " ... sounds ok to me ... for the meantime, still I'm not 100% convinced !

The site now looks much , much better than yesterday even if there's still alot of empty pages all over the site LOL !. I had uploaded some beads in it and had started re-arranging the categories but had not been on the item's prices yet. Need a bit of manipulation with Paypal buttons / Shopping cart to get the business starting on this one. Probably a week work ? OMG that would be very fast I must say ! Oh well... I had no sleep for almost 48 hrs now and my eyes are starting to twinkle in broad daylight ... too much work in the internet ... I better go drink more coffee before I take my son to his Judo class , hoping I don't fall asleep and snore there ! I'm soooooo tireeeeeeedddddddddddd!!!! Sigh !!!!

A Local Crafter Named Raymond

I'd been part of the Fashion Bazaar for 3 days but I feel like I had known the people and other vendors with me for a long time .The way we chat and talked to each other during the day made me feel like I belong to their group . The 2nd table after mine and right beside Angeline's was by another Jewelry Crafter named Raymond. He's a very nice and also very easy to get along with Singaporean Chinese guy who's the eye and hands for creating handmade Beaded jewelries too. We had shared some ideas on how we created our jewelries especially with wiring techniques. Just like me, he'd never been to any beading lessons to learn the craft. It was just pure passion and a hobby.
He would always come to my table to see my displayed items and ask if I'm doing Ok with sales. He had shown me a very attractive bracelet piece he'd just finished . It was generously made with Swarovski Crystals & Pearl Beads accented with Sterling Silver findings . A pity I was not able to ask him if I can take a picture of it to show here in my blog . That piece was an absolute stunner !
He also makes Simple but elegant Pearls & Crystals beaded earrings , as well as Bracelets and Necklaces with great sense of style . He has his own Company called AZORE and manages a Pushcart where he sells most of his own made stuff + other ready made Sterling Silver pieces he had sorted out from other countries inside Vivocity which was according to him was located just beside the Golden Village. I will surely come down one of these days to check it out ...

Once someone was born a natural crafter , the urge to create something artistic cannot be hindered by anyhting ... be it the poor lighting , lack of necessary table & materials nor even a sauna heat like environment with so much sound distractions all around you !

All praises for Raymond for doing a great job and enjoying what he's doing anywhere ... anytime !

FACIALS ... Anyone ?

The Fashion Fair Bazaar was over but the lasting effect of it to all the participants ( local Chinese / Mixed Singaporeans and 1 Filipino who was solely me of course ! ) came with mixed positive and negative sides. Positive in the sense, I met & gained new friends and in a way became part of their community even for a short period of time. I was able to mingle more with the local Singaporeans , be a part of them somehow for the last 3 days during the event ( which I really enjoyed and appreciated a lot despite of the poor sales outcome suffered by most of the vendors brought about by lack of buying power from the public ) and realized how hardworking these people are and how they face and manage the challenges of their chosen careers .
My neighboring table to the right side was managed by Angeline who had admitted to me that she had started selling Facial & Eye Masks beauty products from Taiwan only 4 months ago. Her items with an extensive range of over 40 types of Facial Masks like Q10 Collagen Mask, Ginseng extract Mask & Deep Ocean Mask & also Eye Masks like Hydrating Eye Bag mask , Q10 Elastin Eye Bag Mask just to name a few comes in handy and ready to take anywhere . These products are super affordable , very handy to take anywhere and very easy to use . It will only take about 20-30 mins. to apply the product and you'll feel the difference it makes afterwards ... Guaranteed !

Angeline is a very friendly local Singaporean lady with matching nice and friendly husband too. We always find some time to chat over woes about how the fair was organized the pros & cons of it , the kind of buyers we encounter and exchanging ideas on how to introduce our products more to the buying public together with other vendors . I bought some of her collagen eye bag patches to try when I get home especially for tomorrow Sunday while I take my beauty rest at last !

" FASHION FAIR "

Where ? Atrium Dome ( Beside Plaza Singapura Orchard Rd. )

When ? Sept 25-27 from ( 12:00 - 10:00pm )

The 1st day of the bazaar wasn't that exciting ... although I was happy I was able to set up my table in time. The event place was too hot due to low ceiling and lack of fans for more ventilation . Whew .... it's an absolute sauna from 1:00 - 4pm .

Sales wasn't that good for the moment either although traffic of people wasn't that bad, I always have people attracted to my displayed items the moment they pass my table . It's a good sign people like my items and spread the news to their relatives, friends and office mates. I'm always happy when My-SECRET-Corner gets recognized by word of mouth ...

Car park was also a hassle since I need to take the car all the way up to the top deck of Plaza Singapura car Park. The Atrium Car park was closed at a certain time during the night and available for Season's Card Holders only. Such a Disaster coz I need to push my trolley of things in the middle of Carrefour inside Plaza Singapura ,,, so what I did, I just left all my stuff and things at the venue and covered them with my textile materials ! My biggest worries and fear is - I just hope they don't get stolen overnight !

Well it's too early to complain since it was only the 1st day though but hoping today the 2nd day and tomorrow the last day of the bazaar would be a much better experience as well as better business for all vendors.
